Why was Islam not liked at first?
When Islam first began, people had different opinions about it. Muhammad believed that the wealthy should give up a portion of their money to help the poor. So, the poor supported his idea, but the wealthy did not. They thought that he was trying to take away their wealth. The wealthy then began to beat and torture Muhammad's followers to the point of causing them to leave. They then transitioned to Yathrib, or what is now called Medina. This Journey later became known as the Hijra.
What are the 5 pillars of Islam and Sunna?
Muslims are expected to act a certain way and do certain things. Some of these expectations are stated in the 5 Pillars of Faith, which are belief, prayer, alms, fasting, and Haji. They must believe that Allah is the only god, pray five times a day, give to the poor, fast from dawn until dusk during the month of ramadan, and visit Mecca at least once in their life. The Sunna is basically the traditional part of Muhammad's laws, which is paired together in he Quran.
